Meet the Team
Donovan's Strength & Conditioning
Tommy Donovan
Owner | Director | Coach
I’ve been in the fitness industry for about 18 years, and over that time I’ve worn a lot of hats—personal trainer, strength coach, program director, educator, and business owner. I earned my degree in Recreation with an emphasis in Health and Wellness Promotion from Missouri State University, and I hold my CSCS through the NSCA, along with CPR and First Aid certifications.
What I’m best at is coaching large groups. Whether it’s a team preparing for an upcoming season or a group of busy adults trying to fit fitness into an already chaotic life, I love building systems that take people with very different abilities and turn that into real progress and consistency. I’m especially drawn to helping people who don’t know where to start. Boutique gyms like ours are great places to quiet the noise, create an inviting environment, and add some structure to a journey that can feel overwhelming.
My coaching philosophy is simple: strength first. There are a lot of ways to engage with fitness, but strength training is the most impactful—especially when it’s fun, challenging, and progressive. I also understand that it’s an area many people don’t feel confident navigating on their own. At the end of the day, consistency matters more than anything. No program works if people don’t show up, so my goal is to make sure they want to.
Outside the gym, my favorite lift is the trap bar deadlift. I enjoy mountain biking, fishing, and sitting quietly in the woods pretending I’m hunting (mostly because I like the solitude). I’ve been married to my wife since 2008, we have two daughters, and we love to travel. I also enjoy cooking, and if I weren’t in fitness, I’d probably be running a fishing charter.
You show up. We’ll take it from there.

Peter Farnsworth
Coach
I’ve been coaching for over 22 years and have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of people and populations. My background includes roles in adult strength training, youth performance, and military fitness. I’ve served as a Navy Fitness Enhancement Program Coordinator and Nutrition Counselor, and I’ve coached both adults and athletes through Donovan’s Strength & Conditioning and DSC Athlete Performance. My education is in Mechanical Engineering and Exercise Science, and I hold my CPPS certification.
I’m best at coaching strength in adults, but I genuinely enjoy coaching youth as well. What I really love is helping people who struggle to balance health with real life. Whether it’s stress, scheduling, nutrition, or consistency in training, I enjoy helping clients realize that fitness doesn’t have to be all or nothing. There’s a lot of satisfaction in helping someone break a bad habit and replace it with a better one—sometimes it’s something simple like drinking more water, and other times it’s working toward a lift they never thought they’d hit.
My philosophy is rooted in balance and the idea of progress, not perfection. Health isn’t about being perfect or hitting PRs every workout. Some days are just about showing up and getting movement in—and that still counts. As long as you’re moving forward and not staying stagnant, you’re doing it right.
Outside of coaching, I enjoy bench pressing, swimming, running, and push-ups. I’m very hands-on and love building, fixing, and woodworking—custom projects are kind of my thing. I’m married, have two amazing kids, and an 80-pound rescue dog named Ziva. I love challenges of all kinds, from races and obstacle courses to cold plunges. If it’s a challenge, I’m interested. I also enjoy shooting—bows, firearms, Nerf, catapults… if it launches something, I’m in.
Hunter Bruno
Coach
I’m an ACE-certified personal trainer with a degree in Kinesiology, and I’m CPR/AED certified. I’ve been coaching for about a year and have worked with a variety of clients, including busy professionals, beginner lifters, pregnant and postpartum moms, and people focused on weight loss and lifestyle change.
My specialty is helping people change habits, build strength, and develop the mindset needed to stay consistent. I’m best at helping clients work through the mental and emotional blocks around fitness and creating an experience that’s actually enjoyable—not overwhelming or intimidating.
I really enjoy working with people who feel like they’ve tried everything and are ready to stop starting over. My coaching style is empathetic, straightforward, and habit-focused. I believe in progress over perfection, listening to your body, and building a plan that fits into your real life instead of forcing your life to fit the plan.
Deadlifts are my favorite lift—I love how strong and grounded they feel. Outside the gym, I enjoy hiking, golfing, hunting, traveling, and cooking. I’m a dog dad to a mutt named Koda, and I played baseball at the college level.
If you’re ready to build real momentum and make fitness feel sustainable, I’d love to help you get there.

Michele Williams
Coach
I’m a NASM-certified personal trainer, Precision Nutrition certified coach, and a 200-hour yoga teacher, with about seven years of coaching experience. I’ve worked with all types of clients and enjoy helping people at every stage of their fitness journey.
I’m best known for coaching the big three—squat, bench, and deadlift—but my real passion is helping people build strength that carries beyond the gym. To me, strength isn’t just about the number on the bar. It’s about confidence, resilience, and feeling capable in everyday life. My coaching focuses on safe, effective movement, individualized progress, and building discipline that shows up outside the gym as well.
Deadlifts are my favorite lift, and outside the gym, I enjoy hiking, biking, yard work, and reading. I have two adult children, Tara and Alex, a son-in-law named Dallas, and a sassy cat named Fiddle. I love anything physical and can turn just about anything into a friendly competition.
True strength isn’t only measured in the gym—it’s measured in how it empowers us to live. One rep, one habit, and one step forward at a time.
